Orienteering for all at Great Brook Farm September 22
Try the sport of orienteering right here in Carlisle at DCR Great Brook Farm State Park on Sunday, September 22, with the New England Orienteering Club. Courses will allow brand-new, beginner and advanced participants of all ages to get outside and explore. Beginner instruction is available for all. This event is also part of the 2019 Greater Boston Youth Orienteering Series (ages 3-5, 6-9, 10-12, 13+) and includes coach-led activity stations that teach map reading skills and navigation. After the activity stations, youth will have the option to try an orienteering course with family or friends, or individually. For the regular orienteeringcourses, and to participate in the youth activities, arrive between 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. Starts for all courses are staggered during this time, at your own pace, when you are ready. Compasses and maps provided. The event will be held rain or shine. Parking is at the ice cream parking lot; follow signs 300m to new registration location in Meadow Pond field. Cost per individual: $5 beginning/$10 advanced (family max $15/$30).
